Arthritis symptoms typically involve aching and throbbing pain. Some will notice swelling and pain with movement of the joint. The joint will often feel stiff first this in the morning and then loosen up as the day goes on. The most common joints affected are the knee and hip. Patients notice pain particularly when the joint forces increase with walking up and down stairs or inclines. If the pain continues despite modifying lifestyle we recommend orthopedic evaluation. Often times xray is used to evaluate the joint and determine the degree of arthritis.
